Writing For Competitions
I have developed a passion for writing competitions. They are a chance to get creative, have fun and to push me out of my comfort zone a little.
I have recently signed up to the NYC Midnight Flash Fiction competition. Competitors are put into groups and on a certain date (at midnight NYC time), they are given a genre, object and location to write a story of no more than 1000 words which has to be submitted within 48 hours.
So far my allocations have been a fairy tale set on a livestock farm including a cradle and a thriller set on a shuttle bus including a tranquiliser. If you would like to read these short stories they are written below – hopefully you will be able to work out which one is which!
